Big things are happening in Midland’s parks! The draft Parks and Recreation Master Plan is online.  Beginning Wednesday, Dec 10, community members can explore the plan in person at the Midland Parks and Recreation office, located at 4811 N. Saginaw Rd., or access it online and provide feedback.

Created by the City’s Parks and Recreation staff, this dynamic plan takes a deep dive into Midland’s current recreation opportunities, highlights community feedback, and outlines a bold five-year vision for enhancing our parks, facilities, and programs.

Once adopted, it will replace the current plan approved by City Council in January 2021 and will ensure the City remains eligible for key Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) grant funding opportunities.

Residents are invited to weigh in during a 30-day public review period, as required by the MDNR. Written comments may be submitted to the Municipal Service Center, c/o Marcie Post, 4811 N. Saginaw Rd., Midland, MI 48640, or emailed to recreation@midland-mi.org. The deadline to submit feedback is Jan. 9, 2026.

In addition, a public hearing on the proposed plan will take place during the City Council meeting on January 12, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall. This is a great opportunity for residents to share input and learn more about the future of parks and recreation in Midland.

For more information, contact Midland Parks and Recreation at 989-837-6930 Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or email recreation@midland-mi.org. To explore all the amenities Midland parks have to offer, visit online.
