It’s not too late to enjoy the beauty of Dahlia Hill
As the leaves begin to change, there's still a chance to capture Summer colors at Dahlia Hill.
As cooler temperatures settle in and leaves begin to change, many are getting ready for pumpkin patches and cozy autumn activities. But for those who aren’t ready to say goodbye to summer’s beauty, it’s not too late to enjoy the blooms at Dahlia Hill.
The eight-terraced garden showcases more than 340 dahlia varieties among 3000 plants. They range from small pompons to large dinner-plate blooms.
Established in 1992 by artist and educator Charles Breed, Dahlia Hill is both a botanical garden and an outdoor art exhibit.
Four cast aluminum sculptures on Dahlia Hill are abstract dahlias with human characteristics representing the four stages of life.
The dahlias bloom throughout the summer and reach their peak beauty from July through mid-October
The Equiline Museum on top of Dahlia Hill contain the original artwork of Charles Breed, known nationally for his innovative work.
Dahlia Hill is located at 2809 Orchard Drive. It’s open daily from dawn to dusk, and admission is free. Donations are encouraged to help support the garden’s maintenance and educational programs. Visitors can take self-guided tours, with informational brochures available on-site.
