Little Forks Conservancy is hosting volunteer training for persons interested in becoming stream leaders and collectors. The training session will be held on August 23 at 6 p.m. at the Gladwin City N. Park Boat Launch.

The 84th annual Midland County Fair returns to the community, offering exhibitors and spectators the chance to enjoy entertainment, experience education, and more during the weeklong event, Aug. 14-20.

In our Profile Q&A, we focus on Carl Doud, the director of Mosquito Control for Midland County. He’s served in that role since 2014. Doud and his staff deal with the irritating insects who can also carry disease.
