Four charter boat captains from Bay County earn national awards

The 2025 Angler's Choice Award honors charter boat captains for high customer satisfaction and reliability scores.

FishingBooker, the world’s largest platform connecting anglers with fishing guides, announced that four fishing charter boat captains from Bay County are among the winners of the national 2025 Angler’s Choice Award. 

The yearly award was first given in 2015. From 8,732 captains on the platform, only 672, or 7.7%, earned the honor. In Michigan, 15 captains received the award out of a total 160 guides.

The award-winning captains from the Great Lakes Bay Region include:

To qualify, the captains meet these criteria consistently throughout the year:

  • A review score of 4.8 or higher based on 10 or more verified reviews
  • A reliability score of 98% or higher
  • A response rate of 98% or higher to booking requests within 24 hours
  • Full business verification, ensuring legal compliance and safety standards
