For 34 years, Midland Blooms has been celebrating spring with a burst of color along Eastman Avenue. This year, over 600 volunteers gathered to plant more than 1300 flats of marigolds. However, it’s not just the people planting along the 2.5-mile stretch that make this day special. It’s also about the individuals and businesses working behind the scenes to ensure this tradition continues, dedicating their time and passion to make it an enjoyable day for everyone.
Primrose Retirement holds an annual pancake breakfast for volunteers that lasts until early afternoon. This year, Isabella Bank joined in to assist with setup and serving. They also got their hands dirty, helping plant various flowers at the community entrance and in the Memory Garden.
The Midland Business Alliance has organized Midland Blooms since 1989, with support from a volunteer committee of community members and business representatives.
