A local family’s business, Taste of Midland, opens in the old Bushey’s location. The quick-serve, casual dining establishment offers Tex-Mex options, including appetizers, lunch, dinner, specialty drinks and margarita flights.

Pedestrian plazas opening this June in downtown Midland

The pedestrian plaza will be opening in downtown Midland on June 10, with street closures beginning June 4. Midlanders and tourists alike can enjoy outdoor seating, added greenery, twinkling lights, live music, and fun events all summer.

Sanford businesses reopen after reconstruction led by Three Rivers and Midland Business Alliance

Sanford Hardware and the Red Oak Restaurant are back in business in downtown Sanford after Three Rivers Corporation completed a comprehensive rebuilding and restoration initiative. Community grants and donations of labor and materials from local businesses accelerated the projects and provided continuing support for the reopened businesses.

Crowdfunding campaign takes off to help new downtown business expand

Aviator Cookie Company was chosen for a crowdfunding campaign after an application and interview process with the Midland Young Professionals (MYPros). The MYPros Community Crowdfund program provides opportunities to contribute to the development of businesses that seek to offer unique products and experiences for the community.   

Hemp is a versatile plant that can be crafted into many unique products. The flower can be smoked or made into oils. Other parts of the plant can be used to create textiles, plastics, and more.
CBD is available in downtown Midland — what is it and how does it work?

Steve Scott, owner of Craft Hemp Company, focuses on hemp education in his downtown Midland store. He sources his hemp from growers in Shepherd, Mid Michigan Hemp Supply and Ag Marvels. Ag Marvels also happens to be the biggest hemp processor in Michigan.

Meko Price's business, glō SKIN SPA, is located on Eastman Avenue. Prior to any treatment, clients enter the consultation room. There, they can see a polarized view of their face and skin before discussing their skincare goals.

Aviator Cookie Company opens this Saturday in downtown Midland — the same day as Meet Your Merchants. Chris Welch, a pilot, was grounded due to the pandemic. Coupling his love for baking with his daughter’s idea, Welch set course for a new business.
