Summer concert season is under way. People and music fill Wenonah Park, Veterans Memorial Park, Uptown Bay City, Downtown Bay City, and the Midland Street Entertainment District.

Summer concerts are in the works for Bay City’s parks

This summer, businesses bring free concerts to Bay City's parks and Feet on the Street districts. The concerts, which will be held on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, begin in June.

The Bay County Literacy Council combats low literacy rates among young children with after-school and summer programs. Tutors are needed for both programs.

Dave Vizard, a former Bay City Times news editor, has written several novels featuring a fictional reporter digging into mysteries. The novels are set in Bay City and the Thumb.

Bay Commitment Scholar is paying it forward by helping incoming students succeed

The Bay Commitment Scholarship helps first-generation college students attend Delta College or Saginaw Valley State University. Recent recipient Donna Husband says the scholarship made all the difference for her.
