While time spent on computers, tablets, and phones isn’t all bad, local educators encourage parents to limit how much time kids spend looking at screens. They also offer parents several tips for getting kids off the screens and into fun, low-cost activities.

Renaissance on Midland Street blends historic charm with modern appeal

Entrepreneurs are moving into the historic Midland Street Business District, expanding what's available in the area. The five-block district is home to retail stores, salons, and professional offices as well as restaurants and bars.

The 2024 program is called "Adventure Begins at Your Library," provides materials for parents to keep kids engaged in learning over the summer. Worksheets and other materials also are available at the Literacy Council of Bay County and online.
