Midland expands shared transportation options as part of accessibility improvement strategy

The City of Midland has enlisted Bird Rides Inc. to manage a fleet of 100 shared-use electric scooters available at locations throughout the city limits. The program fits into the city’s plans for creating a community more accessible to various forms of transportation.

If you use the paved trails in the community, then the Bay City Area Transportation Study would like to talk to you. The group is considering updates to pathways provided for non-motorized transportation such as walking, bicycling, and kayaking.

Sweet plan would put less salt on Michigan roads in the winter

State Rep. Brian Elder is advocating the state to study adding sugar beets to road salt. He believes the mix could reduce pollutants in the watershed and cause less damage to Michigan's roads.
